Welcome to the first newsletter of 2012...

Every wedding I work with is so different from the last, it’s hard to believe for some, but it’s true.

Each bride and groom have their own special story to tell, some meeting as young as 3 years old, ending up in different corners of the globe; only to one day be reunited.

Young love taking two different paths, which just so happen to cross again later in life, leading them to finally find true love and pick up where they left off.

There is a book just waiting to be written about the amazing stories I have heard and locations I have visited.

Year after year I find myself discovering yet another beautiful, historic venue just like I did at the end of 2011. When working on the final wedding of the year, which took place in Cheshire @ Thornton Manor, regarded as one of Cheshire’s most stunning event venues. Single handed I took on several bridesmaids and the bride all of whom were a joy to work with.

I am looking forward to discovering more beautiful venues in 2012, this coming weekend I will be re-visiting one of my favourite Essex venues, Gosfield Hall.

Leap Year

As we are in a leap year, 29 February meant it was ‘ok’ for ladies to ask for their man’s hand in marriage!

One story that made me smile was Lisa Maxwell on Loose Women announcing that after 15 years and a 12 year old daughter, she popped the question to her partner at midnight (whilst wearing fleecy pjs). I think that Lisa will make a beautiful bride and can’t wait to see the plans unfold in the coming months.

If you or someone you know asked their partner for his hand in marriage please do let us know?

Since January 2012, I have been busy writing and researching for The Beauty Academy, where I also tutor on a freelance basis.

The Beauty Academy will be launching a number of new make-up courses later this month and I have been involved in writing the courses and creating lesson plans. It’s a very exciting time for the Academy as they will also be moving in a matter of days to new bigger premises.

Courses include: Make-up Artistry Diploma and Creative Make-up Artist Diploma, so do keep an eye on our website and facebook to see up to date pictures of both my demos and students work.

This is a picture of my demo during the Asian Bridal course.

Our Team

Sarah Cronin who joined the team last year will be training for her Make-up Artistry Diploma later this month at The Beauty Academy. So we wish her good luck and hope to see her stepping up from an assistant to a designer in the coming months, with pictures of her work soon to appear on our gallery page.

I am in the process of interviewing for one other person to join the team for overflow work, and think I might have just found the person I’ve been looking for, all will be reviled in the next issue.

Huge congratulations to Jeanette who recently got engaged, we look forward to hearing more about her wedding plans.

Over the past few months I have been working on lots of different projects. Dave Cosens recently placed an offer on Groupon and had a huge response.

I worked alongside Dave's team as hair & make-up artist for his clients having make-overs. It was great fun as always, Dave is a great person to work with as well as a great photographer. Click here to see more of Dave's work.

I had the pleasure of doing my cousin's hair & make-up for her very special day, Friday 10 February 2012. She looked amazing!
