FAQ
Can I wash my hair on the morning of my wedding?
Hair is composed of three concentric layers, the medulla, the cortex, which contains the pigment and the last layer the cuticle.
The cortex layer can be dyed, bleached, permed and straightened.
We advise all brides/bridesmaids & mothers of the bride wearing their hair up on the wedding day not to wash their hair as this will close down the layers of the hair making it silky and difficult to work with and could cause the hair to slide out of the desired style. We would recommend you wash your hair the day before in the morning and avoid using conditioner if possible. We also advise brides/bridesmaids and mothers of the bride do the same as above prior to their trial.
What time will you arrive on the wedding day?
The time of arrival will be decided once your trial has taken place. Only once the trial is completed will we know how long we require.
Are agreed time of arrival does allow for a 30 minute delay due to traffic, so that we always give ourselves enough time.
Will my wedding be your only wedding that day?
YES, your make-up artist and hair designer will be assigned to you only. Once they have completed your desired look and you are ready to leave the room/house, they are finished for the day. Sometimes we do book trials for the afternoons as we know most brides are usually ready for lunch time or earlier. However your wedding day will be worked around you and the time you would like to be ready.
My photographer is coming to the house is this OK?
Of course it is, however we do ask that photographers work around us. We have an important job to do and if they keep shining their flash into your face whilst we are doing make-up it could affect the overall look.
There have been times when a photographer has arrived at the brides home and expected her ready at '11am' when she doesn't have to be to the church until '1pm'. Make sure that they understand what your time table is for the morning. If you would like photos whilst you're getting ready we're happy for that to happen as long as it doesn't spoil the completed look.
My mum is worried that on the day she will have difficulty getting me into my dress, can you help?
YES. Although as per our terms & conditions it is important that you are fully aware we are not insured to dress brides. Therefore should any accidents happen we are not liable as per signed terms & conditions at the time of your booking.
Do you know of a good photographer?
YES. Here at Blushing Bride we highly recommend Chris Townsend not only have we worked with him before but as we're sure you will agree when you visit his website his work is excellent.
We believe that your photographer should make you feel comfortable, not nervous and you should not be made to stand for pictures that you really don't want.
There are many stories we could tell you but one that comes to mind is when our director was working with a bride that didn't need to get ready until 1.30pm. The photographer arrived at 11am and asked her to do a fake dressing, so an hour of her morning was used up with the bride getting into her dress for photos and then back out of it again!
When a bride puts her dress on it's a very special moment and can be quite emotional.
So even if you are unable to book in with Chris please remember the points made!!
Will my make-up last all day?
Yes your make-up is applied to last all day. The only area that will need attention is your lips.
On your wedding day your make-up artist will supply you with a make-up capsule.
